LoginID® to Provide FIDO2-Certified Strong Authentication for AAG Ventures

LoginID will enable secure customer interactions on AAG’s ‘Play to Earn’ and ‘Play to Learn’ NFT Platform

San Mateo/San Francisco, December 9, 2021 -- AAG Ventures today announced a partnership with LoginID, a FIDO2-certified biometric authentication and digital identity provider, to provide authentication services for AAG’s industry leading ‘Play-To-Earn’ and ‘Learn-To-Earn’ blockchain platform.

By integrating with LoginID’s SDKs, AAG will enable authentication as part of the gaming experience and thus ensure the integrity of the identity of the players as they earn NFT (non-fungible token) and crypto rewards. LoginID’s FIDO2 passwordless authentication provides AAG gamers with a convenient and secure interface for interacting with their platform. FIDO is the de-facto industry standard and is actively available on over 4 billion devices globally. Given the growing popularity of gaming on mobile devices, this is particularly important.

This past year has seen an explosion in the popularity of Play-To-Earn games. The impetus for this growth was Axie Infinity's addition of a token-based component to their games that enable any player with a computer or smartphone to earn cryptocurrency by playing. Play-To-Earn was popularized by Axie Infinity and the number of daily active users on their platform increased 38x from 50k to 1.9M from Jan to Oct 2021. The majority of those players reside in the developing world in countries like Brazil, Argentina, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
